Russian FM outlines Moscow's conditions for peace deal with Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has outlined Moscow's demands in a peace agreement with Ukraine, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

Lavrov stated that the peace agreement must include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the withdrawal of claims against Russia, the lifting of sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation, and the return of frozen Russian assets.

Lavrov emphasized that Russia has always been open to a political and diplomatic resolution of the Ukraine conflict — and remains open to it.

He stressed that a sustainable solution is impossible without addressing the root causes of the conflict: “Ukraine must return to the origins of its statehood and comply with the spirit and letter of the documents that form its legal foundation,” the Russian Foreign Minister told Hungary’s Magyar Nemzet newspaper.
