Syria plans to cooperate with Azerbaijan within the framework of larger projects, Syrian Energy Minister Mohammed Al Bashir told journalists within the framework of the opening of the Türkiye-Syria gas pipeline, APA-Economics' correspondent assigned to Türkiye reports.
"We have already held the opening ceremony for the delivery of Azerbaijani gas to Syria through Turkish territory. The pipelines have the potential to transport 6 million cubic meters of gas. Only 4.3 million cubic meters of natural gas will be transferred initially. I would like to express my gratitude to our Azerbaijani brothers for this opportunity and support," the minister noted.
The minister also emphasized that this is not the last project:
"We will have larger projects in the future. A little while ago, during a meeting with my brother Mikayil Jabbarov, we held more extensive negotiations about other work to be done. Mutual visits of technical teams between Azerbaijan and Syria will be ensured. We also discussed Azerbaijan's investment programs and projects in Syria," the minister emphasized.
