The volume of green loans in Azerbaijan exceeded 330 million manat, APA-Economics reports.
A total of 12,762 green financial loans were issued in Azerbaijan during the period from November 11, 2024 to June 30, 2025. The total volume of these loans amounted to 330.24 million manat.
The largest part of the green loans issued in terms of added value, namely 134.01 million manat, was directed to the green transport sector. Financial support was provided for 287 loans in this direction.
The second place was taken by the sustainable agriculture, livestock and aquaculture sector - 12,285 loans were issued in this sector and the total volume was 91.05 million manat.
The energy efficiency sector came in third place - 37.51 million manat was allocated for 89 loans. In addition, the total volume of 5 loans issued for renewable energy was 18.64 million manat.
Other notable areas include sustainable water resources management (14.60 million manat), circular economy and waste management (14.70 million manat), and biodiversity protection (1.25 million manat).
According to the report, the total loan portfolio includes only 0.09 million manat of non-green, sustainability-related loans, while 18.18 million manat was directed to green bonds and other areas within the country.
