Nearly seventy earthquakes have been recorded in Kamchatka over the past 24 hours, 10 of which were felt in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, APA reports citing the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to seismologists, seismic activity in the region is decreasing but still remains at a high level.
The aftershock process that began following the 8.8-magnitude earthquake on July 30 is expected to continue for several months.
