"The days when Moscow dictated the steps to us are long gone," Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihail Popșoi made this statement in response to official Moscow’s comments regarding the arrest of Yevgenia Guțul, APA reports, citing Moldova Libera.
He noted that his country firmly rejects any interference in its internal affairs: “Our country takes steps within the interests of its citizens and strengthens its positions within the European space,” the minister emphasized.
It should be noted that the head of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri) in the Republic of Moldova, Yevgenia Guțul, has been sentenced. Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary of the Russian President, stated that the court verdict against Yevgenia Guțul, head of Moldova’s Gagauz autonomy, is an example of politically motivated decisions and attempts to pressure the opposition.
