On August 27, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Azerbaijan Anne Bouillon over completion of her diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan, APA reports citing MFA.
Azerbaijani-French relations, as well as regional and international issues, were the main topics of discussion at the meeting.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Ambassador Anne Bouillon served as the Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan in a historic and significant period for country. Ambassador Anne Bouillon, who concluded her diplomatic service in country, was wished success in her further activities.
Despite the current difficulties and challenges in Azerbaijani-French relations, the importance of keeping the channels of dialogue open was emphasized.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other party about the steps taken to advance the regional peace agenda, including the results and details of the historic Washington meeting.
It was noted that Azerbaijan has always been a supporter of peace, and the Washington meeting proved this.
Within the framework of the Washington meeting, the importance of initialing the text of the "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia", as well as addressing a joint appeal regarding the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures, which are remnants of the past conflict, was noted.
Ambassador Anne Bouillon expressed her gratitude for the support and cooperation provided during her diplomatic service in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
