Stefanishyna appointed Ukraine’s Ambassador to U.S. – Zelenskyy

Olha Stefanishyna has officially assumed the role of Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during his evening address, APA reports citing Ukrinform.

“I just spoke with Olha Stefanishyna – now the new Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States. The formal procedures are complete – today I signed the decree appointing the Ambassador. I outlined key tasks for updating the work of our embassy, and most importantly – to fully implement all agreements with Washington, our agreements with President Trump, primarily in the defense sector,” Zelenskyy said.

He emphasized that Ukraine’s long-term security guarantees largely depend on relations with the United States.

“Two strong Ukrainian proposals for the US are currently on the table. One is an arms agreement for Ukraine, the other is an agreement on modern drones for the United States. And we are counting on rapid progress in these relations,” the President added.

Zelenskyy also thanked Oksana Markarova for her work throughout the years of full-scale war.

“We have already discussed further cooperation, and I suggested that Oksana Markarova continue to be part of the team – working for Ukraine,” the President said.
