A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Elmin Mammadov held a meeting in the city of Bern with the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Juan Carlos Salazar, and the Regional Director of ICAO’s Europe and North Atlantic Office, Nicolas Rallo, APA-Economics reports.
Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar said that he highly appreciates the work carried out by Azerbaijan as an active member state of ICAO in the region. He stated that the country has successfully implemented a number of important projects, and that ICAO has always supported Azerbaijan and will continue to do so in the future. The Secretary General also noted the importance of raising the development of Azerbaijan’s civil aviation to the next stage, emphasizing the necessity of preparing a Civil Aviation Master Plan for this. He pointed out that such plans are already being used effectively by leading states in the aviation sector and serve as an important tool for systematically planning and coordinating growth targets.
Deputy Minister Elmin Mammadov emphasized the importance of this systematic approach for the further development of Azerbaijan’s aviation sector. He stated that the government, the civil aviation authority, and the aviation industry will work together, in close coordination under the leadership of ICAO, to develop and effectively implement such a plan.
