In August of this year, the average price of gas in Europe was at the level of 11.15 dollars per 1 million BTU (British thermal unit), which means a 4% decrease compared to the July figure (11.62 dollars), APA-Economics reports, citing the World Bank’s monthly report on commodity prices.
According to the report, in June of the current year, the average price of gas in Europe was 12.37 dollars.
According to the information, in August of the current year, the average price of natural gas in the United States was 2.91 dollars, which is 8.8% lower compared to the July figure (3.19 dollars). In June, the average price of natural gas in the U.S. was at the level of 3.02 dollars.
It is noted that in 2024, the average price of gas in Europe and the United States amounted to 10.96 dollars (a 16.4% decrease) and 2.19 dollars (a 13.8% decrease), respectively.
Recall that the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) began on December 31, 2020.
