Turkey and Armenia will meet for the first time next week for a delegation-level meeting

Another important stage in Turkish-Armenian relations is beginning, APA reports, citing the Turkish NTV television channel.

Türkiye and Armenia are coming together for the first time for a delegation-level meeting.

The visit is planned to take place early next week. According to diplomatic sources, the delegation led by Ambassador Serdar Kilic is expected to enter the Armenian side through the Alijan border crossing.

The agenda of the first-ever inter-delegation meeting will include the adoption of some decisions for the normalization of Turkey-Armenia bilateral relations and the implementation of previously adopted decisions.

At five separate meetings held in previous years, decisions were made on the implementation of technical and infrastructure work to resume cargo transportation and air flights, and the opening of borders.

In addition to simplifying visa procedures for diplomatic passport holders, an agreement was reached to allow third-country nationals to cross the Turkish-Armenian border, but this decision has not yet been implemented.

It is also significant that the visit took place after the signing of the agreement between the US, Armenia and Azerbaijan on the Zangezur corridor.
