Azerbaijan urges PACE and other organizations to recognize new regional realities

“Azerbaijan keeps its doors open to all organizations. However, unfortunately, forces working against Azerbaijan, those unwilling to accept the new reality, took such steps that we had to suspend our activities in those organizations,” Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations Committee of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), said during a committee session on Wednesday, APA reports.

The committee chairman noted that if organizations remove biased issues targeting Azerbaijan from their agenda, it would be welcomed: “We have clearly stated our position. Current developments show that attitudes toward Azerbaijan are changing, and the idea of establishing new relations with Azerbaijan is on a completely new level. Any organization or state that refuses to accept the new realities will only create more problems for itself. This also applies to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). PACE must understand that Azerbaijan now exists in a completely new reality. If they wish to be active in the region and maintain good relations with other countries there, they must pay attention to relations with Azerbaijan."
