The State Duma of Russia has adopted, in the third, final reading, the draft law on year-round military conscription, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
The draft law was discussed today at the plenary session of the Duma.
The lower house of parliament approved the draft law on military conscription throughout the calendar year — from January 1 to December 31 in the third, final reading.
According to the law, medical examinations and meetings of the draft boards will be held throughout the year, and citizens will be sent for service within the prescribed periods.
Note that until now, military conscription in Russia has been conducted twice a year — the spring draft (from April 1 to July 15) and the autumn draft (from October 1 to December 31).
