The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision on "Determining the state-owned land area in the administrative territory of Nakhchivan city as a renewable energy source area," APA reports.
According to the decision, a 688.0-hectare state-owned land area in the administrative territory of Nakhchivan city has been designated as a renewable energy source area for the construction of a solar power plant, with an initial capacity of 50 MW, which will be expanded in subsequent phases depending on export potential.
The Ministry of Energy must carry out the procedures for selecting an electricity producer in the designated renewable energy source area in accordance with the "Rules for Selecting an Electricity Producer in the Area of Renewable Energy Sources," approved by the Decree No. 2285 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 2, 2023.
