“Jerusalem Post” on Victory Day: Azerbaijan strengthens peace and stability in the region

The Israeli newspaper "The Jerusalem Post" published an article on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Azerbaijan's historic victory - Victory Day, APA reports.

The article titled "Wisdom of strength: How Azerbaijan turned military victory into peace" touches on issues ranging from the aggression Azerbaijan suffered after the collapse of the Soviet Union to the contribution of Azerbaijani diplomacy to peace in the region in modern history.

Author Roman Gurevich noted that Azerbaijan liberated Karabakh militarily, but real power is manifested not only on the battlefield, but also in the steps taken after the victory.

The article states that Azerbaijan is trying to strengthen peace and stability in the region through steps such as the restoration of territories after the war, the return of internally displaced persons, international cooperation, and the implementation of humanitarian projects.

According to the author, Azerbaijani diplomacy can be an example for other countries, that is, more important than winning the war is preserving peace and building the future.

At the same time, the meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia at the White House in August of this year was touched upon, and it was noted that this meeting was the first step towards lasting peace.

The author pointed out that Azerbaijan's historic victory is also important for Israel and recalled that Azerbaijan opened an embassy in Israel after the victory.

"The victory of November 8 contributed to the restoration of international law, the establishment of peace and stability in the region.

The victory of Azerbaijan is also our victory.

Azerbaijan’s victory reminds us all that the true wisdom of strength lies not in conquest, but in courage, mutual respect, and compassion," the author noted.
