Diplomatic briefing on WTDC-25 held in Geneva

A diplomatic briefing was organized at the headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva for UN missions and representatives of the international community. The session was chaired by ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Director of the Development Bureau Kosmas Lakison Zavazava, and Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN Office in Geneva and other international organizations Galib Israfilov, APA-Economics reports.

The briefing provided information on the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), which will be held in Baku on 17-28 November this year. The discussions emphasized the important role of the event in promoting universal, affordable and accessible connectivity for all, as well as in shaping an inclusive and sustainable digital future.

Participants were also provided with information on the logistical preparations, registration process, accommodation, transport provision and sustainability measures carried out within the framework of the conference. It was noted that the simplified electronic visa system for participants of the “WTDC-25” is now active and available for use through the official online portal. This makes the process of entering Azerbaijan more convenient and accessible.

The ITU leadership expressed its gratitude to the Azerbaijani government, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Digital Development and Transport for their close cooperation and continued support in the preparations for WTDC-25.
