Diplomatic briefing on WTDC-25 held at ITU headquarters in Geneva

A diplomatic briefing for UN missions and international community representatives was organized at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) headquarters in Geneva. The session was led by ITU Secretary-General Dorin Bogdan-Martin, Director of the Development Bureau Kosmas Lakison Zavazava, and Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva and other international organizations, Galib Israfilov.

The briefing provided information about the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), scheduled to be held in Baku from November 17 to 28 this year. Discussions highlighted the conference’s key role in promoting universal, affordable, and accessible connectivity for all, as well as in shaping an inclusive and sustainable digital future.

Participants were also informed about logistical arrangements for the conference, including registration, accommodation, transportation, and sustainability measures. It was noted that a simplified electronic visa system for WTDC-25 participants is already active and available via the official online portal, making entry to Azerbaijan more convenient and accessible.

The leadership of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) expressed their appreciation to the Government of Azerbaijan, as well as to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Digital Development and Transport, for their close cooperation and ongoing support in the preparations for WTDC-25.
