Real estate assets of former Georgian security chief Grigol Liluashvili confiscated amid corruption probe

Several real estate properties of the former head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSS), Grigol Liluashvili, have been confiscated, his lawyer Robert Grigalashvili told TV Pirveli, APA's local bureau reports.

According to him, real estate properties in Liluashvili's name, as well as an apartment, were seized about two months ago as a preventive measure.

The lawyer emphasized that his client does not consider himself guilty of the charges brought against him.

Note that the former head of the SSS was detained the other day. He is accused of taking bribes in large amounts and using the proceeds from patronizing the activities of "call centers" to finance the opposition. A preventive measure of arrest is expected to be chosen for him today. The criminal offenses committed are punishable by 11 to 15 years in prison.

Recall that Liluashvili headed the State Security Service from October 2019 to April of this year.
