French military personnel are conducting training on operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Ukrainian-controlled territories of Donbass, Paris Match wrote, citing a Ukrainian serviceman who is an instructor of French military personnel, APA reports.
According to the information, the drones are being launched in areas north of Kramatorsk, known as the “reed beds.”
A Ukrainian serviceman, a UAV operator named Maxim, said that in 2023 he underwent training in France - in the 2nd Parachute Regiment of the French Foreign Legion. According to him, since then he has "turned from a student into a teacher" and currently French servicemen come to Donbass precisely to exchange experience.
Recall that in 2024, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced that an agreement had been reached to send French military instructors. However, Paris at that time denied the presence of French servicemen on Ukrainian territory and stated that it would not send troops as long as the fighting continued.
