In 2025, Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) increased by 5.4% compared to the previous year, reaching USD 7 billion 263.8 million, APA-Economics reports, citing the report of the State Customs Committee.
Last year, Azerbaijan’s exports to OTS member states amounted to USD 3 billion 572.3 million, while imports totaled USD 3 billion 691.5 million.
During the reporting period, trade turnover with OTS member states accounted for 14.7% of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover.
Note that last year, Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased by 42.6% compared to the previous year, reaching USD 670.6 million; trade turnover with Uzbekistan increased 3.2 times to USD 795.2 million; trade turnover with Türkiye decreased by 6.7% to USD 5 billion 720.8 million; and trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan increased by 93% to USD 77.2 million.
In 2025, Azerbaijan exported non-oil products worth USD 597.3 million to Türkiye, USD 94.6 million to Kazakhstan, and USD 75 million to Uzbekistan.
Recall that the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was established on November 1, 2012, on the basis of the Nakhchivan Agreement signed at the Summit Meeting held in the city of Nakhchivan on October 3, 2009. At the time of its establishment, the organization was called the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS). In 2021, the organization’s name was changed, and it currently operates under the name “Organization of Turkic States.”
The Republic of Azerbaijan is one of the four founding countries of the organization, which currently has five member states: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye. Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have observer status in the organization. The organization’s headquarters is located in Istanbul, Türkiye. Its Secretary General has been Kubanychbek Omuraliev (Kyrgyzstan) since November 11, 2022.
