An analysis will be conducted on “green construction” and “green building,” and legislation will be improved, APA reports.
Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov signed an Order in this regard.
According to the order, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, in coordination with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, and the Center for Legal Expertise and Legislative Initiatives, should analyze urban planning and construction legislation, study international experience, and submit proposals on improving normative legal acts to the Cabinet of Ministers within four months taking into account the "green construction" and "green building" approaches in order to reduce the impacts of climate change in cities, in line with the Action Plan approved by Order No. 912 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Declaring 2026 the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in the Republic of Azerbaijan."
This Order enters into force on the day it is signed.
