Iran rejects Trump’s ceasefire proposal, sets own conditions

Iran has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal and put forward its own conditions, a source familiar with the matter told Press TV, APA reports.

According to the source, official Tehran conveyed to the U.S. that the end date and terms of the war can only be determined by Iran.

“Iran will not allow the U.S. president to dictate when the war will end. Iran will end the war only when it decides and when its own conditions are met,” an Iranian official told Press TV.

The official added that Tehran intends to continue its defense and inflict “heavy blows” on the enemy until its demands are fulfilled.

According to the source, Washington attempted to negotiate through various diplomatic channels, but Tehran described the proposals as “overreaching” and inconsistent with U.S. failures on the battlefield.
