Russia is considering reinstating a ban on gasoline exports to stabilize its domestic fuel market, APA reports.
Although state bodies are discussing the possibility of imposing restrictions, no final decision has yet been made and a unified position has not been formed on the issue. It is noted that the discussions concern only gasoline, not diesel fuel.
The issue is expected to be discussed at a meeting with the participation of Alexander Novak, and a decision on exports could be made during that meeting.
According to sources, a potential ban may not fully offset the seasonal increase in demand on its own, but is being considered as part of a broader set of measures to stabilize the market.
It should be noted that Alexander Novak had earlier emphasized the need for urgent steps to prevent price increases at fuel stations and ensure market stability amid the global energy crisis. He stated that significant price increases are currently being observed in global oil product markets.
