41 illegal migrants, including Azerbaijani citizens, detained in Georgia

As part of measures to combat illegal migration in Georgia, 41 foreign nationals have been detained in the cities of Tbilisi and Batumi, said the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, APA’s local bureau reports.

It was determined that the individuals — citizens of Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Algeria, China, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Jordan, and Iraq — were residing in Georgia without legal grounds.

The foreigners are being held at a temporary accommodation center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Migration Department. Relevant procedures are currently being carried out for their deportation from Georgia.
