Countries should be ready to take action to ensure the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said at a press conference today, APA reports.
“The Strait of Hormuz is not only our problem, although we have carried out most of the preparations to keep it open. This is a desirable outcome. I think Trump is right on this issue. Countries around the world must be ready to take steps to reopen this critical waterway, not just the US Navy. The last time I checked, the large and capable Royal Navy could also prepare to contribute to this mission,” Hegseth stated.
He also touched on relations with NATO.
“If there are countries that do not provide support when you need it, it is difficult to talk about a true alliance,” he added.
