“The Kremlin has heard statements that Budapest is ready to continue dialogue. This will be beneficial for both sides,” Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, Russia hopes to continue highly pragmatic relations with the Hungarian leadership.
The Kremlin spokesman stressed that Russia is interested in building good relations with Hungary, as with all European countries: “Hungarians have made their choice, and Russia respects it.”
Peskov noted that it is not yet known what measures Hungary’s new leadership will take.
He suggested addressing the issue of Hungary’s continued use of the Druzhba oil pipeline to the country’s leadership.
The Kremlin official also said he does not believe the outcome of the elections in Hungary will affect the situation surrounding the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
