Azerbaijan ranks 102nd among the happiest countries in the world


The following results of the World Happiness Report, based on a study conducted by Gallup World Poll in 147 countries, have been published.
According to Yenivaz.com, the report ranks Finland as the happiest country in the world for the ninth consecutive year.
The study is based on respondents' assessments of their quality of life on a scale of 0 to 10. The ranking is based on three-year averages for 2023–2025.
In the Caucasus region, Georgia ranked 91st with a score of 5.5. This result places it behind Russia (79th) and Armenia (89th). Turkey ranked 94th, and Azerbaijan ranked 102nd.

It should be noted that the top three countries in the World Happiness Report are Iceland and Denmark, as well as Finland. Experts attribute this result to the high quality of life in these countries and high trust in public institutions.

Costa Rica recorded the highest score outside Europe, ranking 4th. Among Latin American countries, Mexico's rapid rise is notable. The country, which ranked 36th in 2022, rose to 12th place this year.
Israel ranked 8th, making it the country with the highest score in the Middle East. It is followed by the United Arab Emirates (21st) and Saudi Arabia (22nd). The United States ranked 23rd this year, continuing a downward trend observed over the past 15 years.
Afghanistan ranks last on the list and is considered the unhappiest country, followed by Sierra Leone and Malawi. Political instability, conflict, and economic difficulties are cited as key factors in these countries. Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh also rank low.
