The tuition fees of children of deminers who were killed during demining activities will be paid from the state budget, APA reports.
This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law “On Education,” which was discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the draft, the tuition fees of children of deminers who were killed or died as a result of injuries sustained during demining activities due to the detonation of explosive ordnance will be paid from the state budget while they receive paid education (excluding additional education) at state, municipal and private higher, secondary specialized and vocational education institutions in Azerbaijan.
Under the transitional provisions of this draft law, the amendments scheduled to enter into force on September 15, 2026, will also apply to the children of deminers who were killed while carrying out demining activities or who died from injuries sustained during such activities before the law enters into force (up to a maximum age of 23).
Following the discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
