Executive Director: Baku Initiative Group to continue legitimate struggle against colonialism

Today’s International Youth Forum held in Baku is considered a new segment of the Baku Initiative Group, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group, Abbas Abbasov, said in a statement to journalists, APA reports.

“The Baku Initiative Group continues to implement its main areas of activity. Since 2023, we have been supporting parties engaged in legitimate struggle against colonialism. At the same time, we carry out our activities on various international platforms in the areas of protecting human rights and safeguarding the rights of indigenous peoples and ethnic minorities. The International Youth Forum organized by our group in the capital today is considered a new segment of the Baku Initiative Group.

Within the framework of the forum, participants repeatedly emphasized the need to create new international platforms for youth. As you know, the Baku Initiative Group regularly brings these areas of activity to the agenda of international organizations and will continue to do so. I would also like to note that today’s forum received support from the United Nations Youth Office. Thus, during the conference, a representative of the UN Youth Office addressed the forum participants via a video message. I believe that as a result of the forum, the first steps will be taken to create a new youth platform together with the young leaders participating here,” Abbasov said.

He added that the Baku Initiative Group has established cooperation with more than 10 countries.
