An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 struck the Oaxaca territory in southwestern Mexico, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) informed on Tuesday, APA reports.
The quake was registered at a depth of 22 kilometers at 15:19 UTC. Its epicenter was recorded 143 kilometers west-southwest of Oaxaca, the region's capital and largest city, with a population of approximately 255,000.
There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties.
