No restrictions on roads, installation of checkpoints, or cases such as not allowing drivers coming to the capital from districts and regions to enter are envisaged during WUF13, Namidan Piriyev, head of the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at a briefing on the presentation of the transport management plan during WUF13, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that this situation may only occur on May 18, the opening day: “For a very short period, it is possible that vehicles coming to the capital from the southern part of the city, namely from the area known as the ‘Lokbatan circle’, may have their direction changed and be directed towards the outer ring road. In other words, no restrictions are envisaged for vehicles coming from other directions. This in itself should not be considered a restriction, nor as the installation of any checkpoints or the prevention of vehicles from entering. Only entry to the city will be provided from another direction instead of that specific one. It is possible that, if necessary on the day of the event, vehicles in that direction may be redirected towards the outer ring road.”
