"The European Union considers strengthening connections between the South Caucasus and Central Asia to be in line with its shared strategic interests and is ready to discuss a more structured partnership with Azerbaijan," said Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, APA reports.
“Progress in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia is a historic opportunity, and it is important to maintain this momentum. The EU has a range of tools to support this, from confidence-building measures to demining activities, where we are already the largest donor,” Kallas, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, emphasized.
