Leading global media outlets continue to cover the speech of Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at the European Political Community summit, APA reports.
The European Union-based publication Commonspace.eu has published the full text of the President’s speech.
An article by Turkey’s Hürriyet titled “Reconciliation message to Armenia from President Aliyev” highlights that a de facto peace environment has emerged in Azerbaijan–Armenia relations and notes that initial steps have been taken in economic and transport cooperation. “Ilham Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan has exported 12,000 tons of petroleum products to Armenia and facilitated the transit of 28,000 tons of cargo through its territory,” the publication writes.
The article also includes the Azerbaijani President’s remarks on the application of double standards by European institutions, particularly the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, toward Azerbaijan. The material emphasizes that Azerbaijan has conveyed its position to the international audience in a firmer and more principled manner. It is noted that President Ilham Aliyev openly criticized the resolutions adopted against Azerbaijan by the European Parliament and PACE, describing them as “full of insults and lies.”
Turkish media outlets including TRT World, Akşam, Cumhuriyet, Haber Global, Star, Aydınlık, Yeşil Iğdır, Mersin Haber, Haber 1 and Ankahaber have also published key points from the President’s speech at the summit.
Iranian media outlets such as Tasnim News Agency, Shafaqna and Xabarpru also covered the speech of President Ilham Aliyev at the European Political Community summit. It was noted that the Azerbaijani President on Monday accused the European Parliament of sabotaging the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. “Ilham Aliyev stated in his video address at the summit held in Yerevan that the European Parliament has adopted 14 resolutions in an insulting tone against Baku over the past five years,” Iranian media wrote.
Egypt’s NDB Masr, Yemen’s Saba News Agency, Lebanon’s National News Agency and Lebanon Files, Kazakhstan’s Ulysmedia and Tajikistan’s Xabarixush also widely covered the President’s speech at the European Political Community summit. It was noted that President Ilham Aliyev emphasized progress in the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and substantiated this with concrete economic and transport steps. It was also highlighted that the Azerbaijani President sharply criticized the resolutions adopted by the European Parliament and other institutions, describing this approach as unfair.
