WUF13: Another traffic movement monitoring to be conducted in Baku

Another traffic movement monitoring will be carried out within the framework of the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku on May 17–22, 2026, in order to ensure the safe and efficient management of traffic flow, WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company told APA.

According to the information, temporary traffic regulations will be applied on a number of streets and avenues in Baku from 10:00 to 14:00 on May 13 as part of the monitoring.

The monitoring will cover Neftchilar Avenue, Yusif Safarov Street, partially Heydar Aliyev Avenue (up to the Sabunchu bridge), Mehdi Huseyn Street, Khojali Avenue, Richard Sorge Street, Zarifa Aliyeva Street, Lermontov Street, as well as routes leading to the event venue, the Baku Olympic Stadium.

Drivers and other road users are requested to plan their trips in advance on the specified date, take possible congestion into account, and use alternative roads.

The H1 express bus route operating between Heydar Aliyev International Airport and the city center will continue functioning normally and without interruption. At the same time, private vehicles and taxis will be able to freely enter and exit the airport area through alternative roads. It is recommended to plan trips in advance in order to avoid delays.

It was noted that traffic movement monitoring conducted ahead of WUF13 had also been successfully implemented as part of preparations for a number of global events held in Azerbaijan over the past decade.
