Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld on May 12 in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission in the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the development of the existing relations between the two countries and thanked the ambassador for his efforts in this direction.
During the meeting, the current state of cooperation and future prospects for development across various areas of partnership relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom were extensively discussed. Political dialogue, economy, energy security, green energy, trade, investments, education, humanitarian fields, and regional security issues were among the main topics discussed.
During the meeting, the parties noted that the existing dialogue, mutual visits and contacts between the two countries, including political consultations, make an important contribution to the development of relations.
The sides also exchanged views on the regional situation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, restoration and reconstruction efforts carried out in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
Ambassador Fergus Auld expressed gratitude for the support provided during his tenure in Azerbaijan. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov wished the ambassador success in his future activities.
