The same Russia, the same scenario: Chauvinism and brutality

2024. Yekaterinburg. Brutality against Kyrgyz.

On January 17, 2024, a special raid was conducted against Kyrgyz migrants in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.

During the raid, Kyrgyz were subjected to a series of shameful and degrading acts of violence.

Approximately 150 Kyrgyz and other Central Asian migrants were detained and taken to the territory of construction sites.

When some of the Kyrgyz tried to escape from the persecution, Russian law enforcement officers forced them to kneel one after another. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, describing this behavior against Asian migrants, most of whom are Kyrgyz, as unacceptable and degrading.

The raids involved the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard (Rosgvardia), and the Russian Investigative Committee.

Migrants who were caught were often threatened with being taken to the war zone with Ukraine, beaten, tortured, and forced to sign a contract.

2025. Yekaterinburg. Brutality against Azerbaijanis...

On June 27, 2025, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard (Rosgvardia) and the Russian Investigative Committee again carried out a joint attack, this time at around 5 a.m., on houses where Azerbaijanis live. Then, workplaces were raided.

In total, up to 65 Azerbaijanis were detained and taken to the local department of the "Rosgvardia". Audio recordings, photos and videos of eyewitnesses, published in APA and other media outlets, fully reflect the scale of the brutality. Russian law enforcement officers beat two brothers to death with particular cruelty. Four people, who were seriously injured, were undergone surgery, their condition is critical. Dozens of Azerbaijanis were injured, houses were destroyed, personal belongings, even women's underwear, were scattered on the streets.

"Black masked men", who are the face of Russia, have not calmed down.

They attacked an Azerbaijani cafe. Elgiz Safarov, the son of the cafe owner Akif Safarov, told APA: "When they found out that I was the son of the cafe owner, they demanded that I cook kebabs. They broke the dishes in the cafe. When we were cooking kebabs, they came and hit us from behind with a truncheon. They kept us lying on the floor in the cafe for about 2 and a half hours. They ate and drank, beat us again and left."

This time, the pretext for the raid is a murder that took place in 2001. However, for example, Vugar Safarov, who was detained and tortured during the incident, was born in 1997. That is, he was only 4 years old when the alleged murder took place... By the way, Vugar Safarov said in an interview with our agency that he and his brother were required to sign an agreement to join the army and military operations in Ukraine.

Same scenario, same brutality

The scenario of the atrocities committed against Azerbaijanis yesterday and the operation against Kyrgyz just a year ago is the same. All the details - the list of invaders, humiliating treatment, torture, insulting attitude... This gives grounds to say that what is happening is the state policy of Russia.

It is not a coincidence that an incident is repeated twice in countries like Russia.

This is Russia's attempt to demonstrate its power to the world, which Putin has directly lost, and an attempt to challenge Russian nationalism and thus survive.

This policy of chauvinism is very familiar to us. We know this policy from January 20, from Khojaly. We know this policy from our lands that have been under occupation for 30 years...

The whole world has watched with hatred, anger, and amazement the Russian chauvinism that put the Ukrainian, who is one in blood and one in soul, under the tracks of its tank.

Russia kills children, murders women, and humiliates men. The war with a brother who has the same historical roots, language, and religion is a black stain on the history of Russia and Putin's government that will never be erased.

Russia will not be able to erase this stain by humiliating the Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Tajik, and Azerbaijani. The Russian people will live with this stain throughout their history! We are not the ones to wash this stain away!
