U.S. President Donald Trump said he was informed in advance about Israel’s strikes on Iranian targets and was not surprised by the attacks, according to an interview with Fox News.
Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin reported that the Trump administration had notified at least one key U.S. ally in the Middle East that Israel was planning the strike and that Washington was not involved. The goal, she said, remains to bring Iran back to the negotiating table over its nuclear program.
"The president will monitor whether Iran responds. CENTCOM is on high alert. The U.S. will defend itself and Israel if necessary," Griffin wrote on social platform X.
She also cited unnamed officials who said the U.S. has recently replenished missile stockpiles for Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system.
