The 3rd meeting of the Chairmen of the Judicial Councils of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has started in Baku, APA reports.
The meeting is attended by the heads of the judiciary and regulatory bodies in this field from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, as well as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Inam Karimov, Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said that this initiative was first proposed and highly appreciated at the meeting held in Istanbul in May 2024: “This initiative is an important step towards institutionalizing our concrete legal cooperation. I believe that with the signing of the Charter, a legal basis will be established for multilateral and sustainable cooperation in the judicial-legal field among the partner states. Within this framework, the implementation of joint projects, organization of scientific-educational programs, ethical and professional training of judges, conducting joint legal research, and continuous exchange of experience will create a reliable platform. This process will make a significant contribution to deepening the common legal culture of Turkic states and promoting the principles of justice and the rule of law.”
It was noted that today at the event, the signing of the Charter on the establishment of the Network of Judicial Councils of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States is planned.
