Former Armenian Defense Minister Ohanyan's parliamentary immunity revoked

Former Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan’s parliamentary immunity has been revoked, APA reports.

59 members of parliament voted in favor of the decision during today’s session in the Armenian parliament, with no votes against it.

In addition to Seyran Ohanyan, the parliamentary immunity of Artsvik Minasyan, secretary of the opposition "Hayastan" faction, has also been lifted.

It should be noted that last week, Armenia’s Prosecutor General submitted a motion to the parliament requesting the removal of parliamentary immunity from former Defense Minister and head of the opposition "Hayastan" faction, Seyran Ohanyan.

To recall, the criminal case against the head of the "Hayastan" faction concerns the illegal appropriation of 10,500 square meters of land in the Draxtik community of the Gegharkunik region between 2010 and 2015. Ohanyan is accused of misappropriating this land during his tenure as Defense Minister and building a mansion on it using state funds.
