One of the greatest statesmen and commanders in the history of the Turks, Nadir Shah Afshar, after the Congress in Sugovushan, had the following inscribed on the coin he issued: The best of all!
Nadir had achieved great victories; when he came to power, he had liberated his state from occupation. He was celebrating his victory in Sugovushan. This was Nadir, who had driven the Russians out of the territory under their influence! Moreover, he had done it without war.

Another great statesman of the Turks and our Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev, when he began meetings yesterday in the world’s number one capital, in the number one office, I recalled the words of Nadir Shah.
For our State, our Nation, and our Region — the best of those who have been is happening!

On August 8, the details of the Washington meetings and the signed documents were widely circulated in the media. Azerbaijani media provided live news, photos, and video footage of the meetings. Immediately after the meetings and the signing of the documents, the President of Azerbaijan gave an interview to the press, touching upon all the political details.
The terms set by the Supreme Commander on behalf of Azerbaijan for peace—during discussions held under occupation, and later during and after the Patriotic War and the Great Victory—were never changed.
The first condition was the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity within the framework of international law. Ilham Aliyev achieved this through his political will, the support of his people, and the strength of the army. Despite all risks, he made the decision and accomplished it.
Second condition—ensuring the full restoration of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty. Aliyev, with his people and army, succeeded in this as well.
Third condition—the OSCE Minsk Group becoming history. The President proposed this as one of the three peace conditions after the Victory. On August 8, the OSCE Minsk Group joined the annals of history amid applause from its creators.
Fourth condition—ensuring an unhindered and secure land route connecting the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan. Ilham Aliyev achieved this too. Nakhchivan was liberated from blockade. Our “younger homeland” will no longer rely on anyone's pity.
The fifth condition was the removal of provisions regarding territorial claims against Azerbaijan from the Constitution of Armenia. Because without this, any regional power wanting to pressure Azerbaijan can exploit that 'weak point,' reignite revanchists in Armenia, turning them against Azerbaijan. In fact, this is not only a guarantee of peace for us, but also for the Armenian people. Ilham Aliyev achieved this as well. Yesterday, in the world’s top office, with Trump as a witness, the Joint Declaration signed included a promise made by Prime Minister Pashinyan, the representative of the Armenian people.
Thus, Ilham Aliyev created an Azerbaijan—one with restored territorial integrity and sovereignty, where only Azerbaijani soldiers stand on its borders, no other military force exists in the country, free of refugees and blockades, and relieved of any political or military pressure. Ilham Aliyev, with this Azerbaijan as the region’s strongest leader, went to the world’s number one office, shook hands, and stated his readiness to sign peace.
He did it, Azerbaijan won!
Aliyev turned all those who wanted to do "big brotherhood" to Azerbaijan into partners. For those who do not want to become partners, he tries to explain exactly this. Azerbaijan does not need a “big brother,” the first Republic of the East determines its own destiny. Anyone who wants can be a partner.
Ilham Aliyev himself brought justice to a country that was seeking a ceasefire, mercy, and justice from the OSCE Minsk Group, the Council of Europe, and different capitals of the world at the end of the last century! They did not treat us fairly, they did not show mercy to us, they did not give us our rights! We restored justice, we won justice, we took our rights!
Ilham Aliyev turned the wheel of history after 250 years. He did the best possible to bring peace to this region. He became the best of all!
