Japan has increased its imports of liquefied natural gas from Russia, the Japanese Ministry of Finance statistics says, APA reports, citing TASS.
According to the report, Japan increased its imports of liquefied natural gas from Russia by 372% in July 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
Coal exports from Russia to Japan have also increased, but the country still does not buy Russian oil.
Coal exports from Russia to Japan increased by 286% in July.
However, as in previous months, Japan did not import Russian oil. This is due to the price ceiling imposed by the G7 countries. The only exception is oil supplies carried out together with liquefied gas within the framework of the Sakhalin-2 project.
