Kazakhstan and the U.S. discuss strategic energy cooperation

Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov discussed joint project implementation and the stable operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) as a key export route with U.S. Secretary of the Interior and Chair of the Energy Dominance Council, Doug Burgum, APA-Economics reports, citing Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry.

“During the discussion, the parties reviewed the progress of major joint projects and plans for further development of oil fields. Special attention was given to oil transportation issues, particularly ensuring the stable and reliable operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) as the main export route,” the statement said.

Akkenzhenov noted that U.S. companies are key partners in Kazakhstan’s flagship projects, including Tengiz, Karachaganak, and Kashagan.

“The projects carried out in Kazakhstan are among the main assets in the global portfolios of our American partners. Their scale emphasizes Kazakhstan’s strategic importance in ensuring global energy stability and reflects successful, mutually beneficial cooperation,” Akkenzhenov added.
