On 4 November 2025, the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), H.E. Ambassador Ramil Hasan, warmly welcomed the delegation of the Aksakals (Council of Elders) of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), led by its Chairman, H.E. Mr. Binali Yıldırım, at the TURKPA International Secretariat, APA reports.
The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Council, H.E. Mr. Binali Yıldırım, and included distinguished members of the Council: H.E. Mr. Hasan Hasanov, Former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan; H.E. Mr. İkram Adyrbek, Member of the Council of Senators of the Parliament of Kazakhstan; H.E. Mr. Apas Dzhumagulov, Former Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic; H.E. Mr. Sodikjon Turdiev, Chairman of the Board of the “Nuroniiy” Fund of Uzbekistan; and H.E. Mr. Oktay Öksüzoğlu, Former Director of the Information Office of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
To commemorate the significant visit, a tree-planting ceremony was held in the inner courtyard of the Secretariat. This act served as a powerful symbol of the enduring cooperation, shared roots, and flourishing future of the Turkic world.
In his welcoming address, Secretary General Ramil Hasan expressed his great pleasure in hosting Chairman Yıldırım and the esteemed members of the Council, describing them as representing the profound knowledge and wisdom of the Turkic World. The Secretary General also extended his gratitude to Mr. Yıldırım for his significant support to the TURKPA International Secretariat by paying a visit in the early days of his assumption of office.
In return, Chairman H.E. Binali Yıldırım congratulated Ambassador Ramil Hasan on his election as the TURKPA Secretary General and wished him success in his new responsibilities. Mr. Yıldırım conveyed his strong belief that the Secretary General would excel in this important duty, drawing upon his extensive experience from previous posts and his deep understanding of politics.
The meeting was further honored by the presence of H.E. Amb. Birol Akgün, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan, and H.E. Amb. Ufuk Turganer, Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Baku.
The delegation was accompanied by a team of senior advisers, including Mr. Ömer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS; Chief Advisers to Chairman Yıldırım, Mr. Sinan Ülker and Mr. Muharrem Çığlık; Mr. Ali Çiviler, Project Director of the OTS; and Ms. Seçil Özyanık, Adviser to the Chairman.
The meeting was also attended by TURKPA Deputy Secretaries General Mr. Talgat Aduov, Mr. SakySadykov, and Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali, as well as the Secretary of Commission, Mr. Kadir Yaman.
