US Senate fails to pass government finance bill for the 14th time

For the 14th time in the last few weeks, the US Senate has rejected a Republican Party-sponsored bill to provide funding for the federal government, which is currently partially suspended, APA reports.

During the procedural vote, the bill, previously approved by the House of Representatives, was supported by 54 members, while 44 senators voted against. Approval of the bill requires 60 votes. If the bill is not approved by Congress and signed by US President Donald Trump by 9:23 PM local time (5:23 AM Moscow time, November 5), the current US government shutdown will become the longest in the country's history.
