Azerbaijan is a social state, and social issues have always been a priority in domestic policy and at the center of the President’s attention, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor and Social Policy, Musa Guliyev, said during a joint meeting of the Committees on Labor and Social Policy and Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, held to discuss the “2026 State Budget Package of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” APA reports.
According to Guliyev, since 2019, five major social reform packages have been adopted, each improving the social well-being of 4 million citizens annually. “The economic successes achieved by our country in 2025 have led to an increase in social expenditures in the 2026 budget. The revenues of the State Social Protection Fund for 2026 are 9.3% higher compared to the current year, and expenditures are projected to grow by 10.5%. Since 2019, the minimum labor pension has exceeded the national minimum living standard, and this trend will continue next year. The average monthly labor pension in 2026 will amount to 590 manats, while the average monthly old-age pension is expected to rise to 629 manats,” he stated.
