State Committee: 12 cities are being rebuilt based on planning documents

A number of consistent measures are being taken in our country on the eve of the World Urban Forum, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Ilgar Isbatov told journalists, APA-Economics reports.

He noted that master plans for our cities are being prepared and our regions are developing in a planned manner based on these master plans:

“A number of issues that are relevant in the context of the development of urbanization in the world are expected to be discussed at the World Urban Forum. The most important of these are issues related to housing problems. These problems are more prominent in a number of developing countries, especially in countries where poor people exist.

Azerbaijan has both extensive experience and great successes in this direction. Planning documents for hundreds of settlements have been prepared in a very short time in the territories liberated from occupation, and the return of our population to these areas continues.”

"In total, these cities are being rebuilt based on the planning documents of 12 cities. This example, which was prepared and implemented for a very short period of time, is, in my opinion, an unparalleled example," I. Isbatov added.
