Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli has participated in the high-level presentation ceremony of UNESCO’s Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report held at UNESCO headquarters, the Ministry of Science and Education told APA.

It was noted that following the official opening of the presentation ceremony, attended by high-level representatives of education ministries of UNESCO member states, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations and experts, panel discussions were organized on topics such as access and equity in education, out-of-school children, fair financing of education, and preschool education.

Within the framework of the event, Deputy Minister Hasan Hasanli also held a bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Preschool and School Education Ezozkhon Karimova.

In addition, the delegation led by the deputy minister participated in the 6th meeting of the Global Education Coalition.

Within the framework of the event, Hasan Hasanli delivered a speech at the ministers’ panel titled “Opportunities of the Impact of Digital Transformation in Education,” informing participants about the results achieved in recent years within the framework of the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026,” initiatives aimed at developing digital skills, and steps taken toward integrating artificial intelligence solutions into the education system.

It was noted that the Global Education Coalition was first established in 2020 to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education, and later expanded its activities to ensure the continuity of education in emergencies and to support the transformation of education systems. Currently operating in 112 countries, the Coalition brings together more than 220 institutional partners, including civil society institutions, academic circles, and the private sector.

In 2021, the Republic of Azerbaijan became one of the main donors of UNESCO’s Global Education Coalition by providing financial contributions.
