Kremlin: We hope Zelensky was reminded in Türkiye of the unacceptability of attacks on gas pipelines

The Kremlin has claimed that traces of Ukrainian involvement will be found in connection with explosive devices discovered on a gas pipeline in Serbia, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov described the situation as potentially very dangerous.

According to him, infrastructure belonging to both the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines has been repeatedly targeted by Ukraine.

“We know that there is currently no reliable evidence as to who is behind the attacks on this vital energy artery, which is operating under extreme strain. As we know, Ukraine has previously been directly involved in such acts of sabotage against critical energy infrastructure.

This time as well, it is highly likely that some traces of Ukrainian involvement will be identified. Russia, of course, is taking the necessary measures to ensure the security of this infrastructure. We hope that both Hungary and Serbia will take steps to minimize threats to these oil and gas pipelines. We also hope that during recent contacts with Zelensky in Ankara, the Ukrainian leader was reminded of the unacceptability of such aggressive actions against the South Stream and Blue Stream infrastructure,” the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized.
