Earthquake in Caspian Sea felt in southern regions of Azerbaijan

An earthquake has occurred in the Caspian Sea and was felt in the southern region, APA’s local bureau reports.

The tremor was felt more strongly in Lankaran and Astara.

An underground tremor that occurred at a depth of 70 km is estimated to have had a magnitude of 4–5, Director General of the Republican Seismological Service Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Gurban Yetirmishli, told APA.

The earthquake was felt at a magnitude of 3 in the southern region, mainly in Jalilabad, Astara, Lankaran, and Lerik.
