An additional 45–60-day ceasefire could take place if the United States and Iran reach an agreement, said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in an interview with Anadolu Agency, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
According to him, maximalist proposals put forward by the parties are currently being discussed.
“The parties have, in fact, put forward their initial positions. This is normal. Initial positions are always somewhat maximalist. Then the parties try to reach a common denominator at some point with this mediation support. The main thing is to have a continuous sincere intention to achieve a ceasefire. What I see is that currently both sides are sincere about the ceasefire issue and are aware of the need,” Hakan Fidan noted.
