Pashinyan: We will open railway with Azerbaijan under TRIPP project

Armenia is entering a new phase of economic development, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with entrepreneurs today, Armenpress reports.

He noted that this is linked to the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

According to Pashinyan, significant developments are expected in the near future, mainly related to the launch of the TRIPP project. He emphasized that TRIPP is important for fully lifting Armenia’s blockade.

“In fact, Armenia can already be considered to have overcome the blockade. As you know, cargo transportation to Armenia via railway through Azerbaijani territory is possible and is being carried out. At the same time, exports are, of course, possible via railway through Georgian territory. The railway with Azerbaijan will initially be opened within the framework of the TRIPP project. This is very important, and the political agreement is that this railway will never be closed. That is, it will be a reliable route for both imports and exports,” Pashinyan added.
